They have 3 children and 7 grandchildren: Joshua, married to Lindsey – proud parents of Jacob Michael, born May 31, 2008 and Everley Marie born August 26, 2012 . Jeremy, married to Autumn – proud parents of Jeremy Cole, born November 8, 2010 and Ryder Jamison born June 27, 2014. Jonathan, a graduate of the University of Central Florida, holds a Master of Arts Degree from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary and is a Student Adviser at St. Petersburg College.
Dr. Helms began his ministry at Moffat Road A/G in Mobile, Alabama. While attending Southeastern College in Lakeland, he became the youth pastor at Carpenter’s Home Church and ministered there for six years. He also served as an associate pastor at Cathedral of the Cross in his hometown, Birmingham, Alabama for three years. He felt the Lord calling him to pastor and he moved his family to West Memphis, Arkansas where they pastored First Assembly of God before accepting the pastorate at Glad Tidings. Dr. Helms has ministered in over 50 countries, is the co-author of the book “Connecting Points” and most recently authored “The Joy of Connecting.”
Executive Pastor
Jonathan Helms serves as the Executive Pastor at GT Church. A former officer in the United States Air Force, Jonathan brings the same dedication and leadership to ministry that he once gave to his country. He is a graduate of the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, where he earned his Master’s degree in Christian Ministries.
Jonathan is passionate about God’s Word and committed to helping others grow in their faith and relationship with Jesus. Whether through teaching, leadership, or personal connection, his heart is to see people discover their purpose and walk confidently in God’s calling for their lives.

Next Gen Pastor
Madison Redmond has grown up and served at GT Church her entire life. Guided by the encouragement and discipleship of GT’s leaders and her parents, she has developed a deep and lifelong walk with Christ. Madison earned her MBA with a concentration in Leadership from Southern New Hampshire University and uses her skills to help lead and equip the next generation.
Her passion for ministry was cultivated through years of serving in Youth Group, Girls’ Ministries, and Elementary Sunday School. Madison believes in empowering students to build their own biblical foundation and to become sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Her joy and enthusiasm create a positive, Christ-centered environment where students can grow in their faith.
With a heart for raising up the next generation, Madison is devoted to planting godly seeds in the hearts of young believers and watching God bring growth in their lives.
Royal Rangers and Girls Ministries Coordinators
Dale was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida. He spent four years serving his country in the United States Coast Guard, during which time he met his wife, Deborah. His involvement in Royal Rangers began in 1963 when he served in his local church as a leader.
Dale served as a Royal Rangers Sectional Commander in Pinellas County for many years. He has also served as the District Ranger Kid Coordinator and Missions Coordinator for the Peninsular Florida District. He currently serves as the Senior Commander and Ranger Kid Leader at GT Church. As a Royal Rangers leader, Dale has always strived to fulfill the call to reach, teach, and keep boys for Jesus Christ, and to develop them into servant leaders.
Deborah was born in Beaufort, North Carolina, and moved to Florida when she married her husband, Dale, in 1968. When they moved to Florida, she became involved in Girls Ministries in their local church, where she served as both a leader and coordinator.
Deborah served as the Section Eight Girls Ministries Representative for Pinellas County for 15 years. She then served as the Peninsular Florida District Girls Ministries Coordinator for an additional 15 years. She is currently serving as the Girls Ministries Coordinator at GT Church. Deborah’s heartbeat is to disciple and raise up a generation of girls who know God and know their identity is in Christ.
Dale and Deborah have been married for 58 years and are the parents of two adult children and two amazing granddaughters. They are credentialed with the Peninsular Florida District Council of the Assemblies of God. They have served as children’s pastors, Royal Rangers, and Girls Ministries leaders for the past 55 years. They are currently retired children’s pastors who continue to serve as Royal Rangers and Girls Ministries Coordinators at GT Church.
Worship Director & Co-Young Adults Leaders
Josh serves as a deacon and co-leads the young adults ministry. He was born and raised in GT Church and has a heart to teach people practical ways to apply the word of God to their lives.
Josh & Charity met through the young adults ministry and were married at GT Church. Both of their families have served GT for multiple generations and now they’ve started a family of their own. Their love for their church and desire to serve is deeply engrained with a belief that church family is vital to the abundant life God intended for us.
Charity serves as worship director and is passionate about encouraging and uplifting people both on and off stage. She’s a singer songwriter, Berklee alumni, Nashville recording artist devoted to sharing her testimony of God’s goodness through her music and worship.
GT Littles Director
Sandy Jones joyfully serves as the GT Littles Director, overseeing the babies and toddlers ministries with a deep love for nurturing young hearts in their earliest stages of faith. She is passionate about creating a safe, welcoming, and joy-filled environment where children experience God’s love through care, consistency, and intentional teaching. Sandy’s ministry is marked by compassion, creativity, and a commitment to partnering with families as they lay a strong spiritual foundation for their little ones. Through her leadership, GT Littles continues to be a place where every child is known, valued, and lovingly guided from the very beginning of their faith journey.
Media Manager
Thom heads up a media department that brings technology to the sanctuary and opens up GTChurch to the world through streaming video of Sunday services.
Thom earned a BS Degree from Florida State University in Radio and Television and a Masters Degree in Communication from the University of South Florida. He is also a US Army veteran.
He is excited to bring his God-given talents in media to expand and enhance God’s kingdom through today’s technology.
Worship & Young Adults Pastor
Heath serves as the Worship Pastor at GT Church and, together with his wife, lead the Young Adults Ministry. He was raised at GT Church and now with a family of 6, he pours into the same fellowship that helped shape his faith.
Heath believes that God has placed a unique calling and gifting on every person’s life and is passionate about helping people actively walk in that calling.
He has a deep love for creativity, leadership, and team building, and enjoys guiding projects from vision to completion. Guided by his motto, “There’s always room for one more,” Heath strives for excellence in worship, production, outreach, and the creative ministry—all with the goal of growing God’s kingdom and helping others discover their God-given purpose.
