Responding To Crisis
We are living in challenging times. I want to encourage your heart. Our Wonderful Lord told us this would happen. In response to questions about the end of the age He said: “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.” Matthew 24:3-8 NKJ
This did not take us by surprise and we know what to do.
- Love one another: “Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.” 1 John 3:18 NLT; “”In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you…” Matthew 7:12 NAS
- Pray! Pray! Pray!: “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Phil. 4:6-7 NLT
- Listen to leadership. We want to be a part of the solution: “Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.” Heb. 13:17 NIV
- Embrace this as an opportunity to fulfill the mission of Christ: “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp-stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matt. 5:14-16 NKJ
- Place your trust in the Lord: “Now this is what the LORD says: Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine! When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you go through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, and the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel …” Is. 43:1-3 NLT
As we love, pray, participate in the solution, let our light shine and trust God, we can move ford with an assurance that our Faithful Lord will bring us through this crisis victorious. “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Rom. 8:28 NKJ
